Authorities are investigating a fatal mobile home fire in Vanderburgh County.
In a release, the sheriff’s office says volunteer firefighters were dispatched to the 6100 Block of Moline Drive, off N. St Joe Avenue, just after 7:00 Wednesday night.
The sheriff’s office said two deputies retrieved a door ram and forced entry into the burning home but were stopped by thick smoke.
Properly equipped firefighters arrived shortly thereafter, entered the burning trailer, removed the resident, and began life-saving measures with AMR Paramedics.
But the resident could not be revived.
No word yet on the victim’s identity.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
