USI's Multicultural Center

The University of Southern Indiana is hosting its annual Hispanic Heritage Month Keynote Speaker tomorrow Wednesday, October 24, at 6 p.m. in Carter Hall. This year’s keynote speaker is Mr. Jimmy Cabrera who has been a motivational speaker for 36 years.

Cabrera is a disabled Vietnam War Veteran who received an Honorable discharge award from the US Navy in 1969. The title of the event is “On the Shoulders of Giants” where Cabrera will discuss how we can see further by standing on the shoulders of Giants.

He says we do this ‘Not because we have keener vision or height, but because we are lifted up and born aloft on generations of gigantic stature.

The event will be presented by USI’s Hispanic Sorority and will feature Latin American dances and food. For more information, you can call 812 228 5002.
