Three Caretakers Charged in Woman's Death

File

Coroner: Woman died of an overdose and caretaker malfeasance

Three Evansville women face neglect charges following the death of a woman in their care. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

28-year-old Robin Phillips was a special needs client of Compass Residential, a company that provides services for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Phillips died in her East Side apartment in January of 2020.

20-year-old Latavia Booker, 32-year-old Victoria Brown, and 38-year-old Glenda Fields, all face two counts of neglecting a dependent resulting in catastrophic injury.

The Evansville Police Department says there was a delay in Booker reporting Phillip’s death.

EPD Sgt. Anna Gray says police determined Phillips died hours prior to the 911 call.

The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office later ruled Phillips died from an overdose of an antipsychotic medication and caretaker malfeasance.
