Vanderburgh County officials announced more neighborhood-level coronavirus testing.

The Resource and Awareness Task Force says it will host a third drive up neighborhood COVID-19 testing next Wednesday, August 12 at the former Health South Rehab Hospital at 4100 Covert Avenue in Evansville.

It will start at 5pm central time. Testing is first come, first served. Vanderburgh County Health Department Administrator Joe Gries says they will have about 180 tests available for this testing event.

The tests are free, although if you have health insurance, you will be asked to provide that information during registration. You do not need to have COVID symptoms in order to qualify.

The neighborhood level testing is funded through a special appropriation by the Vanderburgh County Council in response to the lack of testing availability in certain areas of Evansville.
