House Hit During Pursuit

A police pursuit in Evansville ended after the suspect’s truck hit a house. The EPD said in a news release that an officer tried to pull-over 28 year old Codey Ritchison early Thursday morning near Morton and Maxwell avenues.

Police said Ritchison initially stopped, but then drove away at a high rate of speed.

The EPD said he lost control of his truck and struck the house at 317 Maxwell.

Police said Ritchison got out of the truck and ran from the crash scene, but an officer caught him after a short foot chase.

No injuries were reported.

Police said officers found a loaded handgun in the bed of the truck and methamphetamine in Ritchison’s pocket.

Ritchison was booked into the Vanderburgh County jail on charges of Resisting Law Enforcement, Possession of a Handgun by a Felon, Possession of Methamphetamine, Driving without Ever Receiving a License, Reckless Driving, and Hit and Run.
