A man is dead after a motorcycle collided with an SUV on Evansville’s West Side.
First responders were dispatched to the crash at St. Joe Ave. and W. Franklin St. at about 9:30 Thurday night.
In a release, Evansville Police Officer Anna Gray said the driver of the motorcycle was taken to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The EPD said detectives spoke with witnesses who said the motorcycle was westbound on Franklin when the light turned red. But the driver proceeded through the intersection and collided with an SUV that was turning onto St. Joe.
There were no other injuries reported.
The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office had not yet released the victim’s identity as of midday Friday.
