New Traffic Patterns Hwy 41 and Washington

insideindianabusiness.com

Starting Tuesday, the traffic patterns at a busy Evansville intersection will change.

According to a release from the Indiana Department of Transportation, as they prepare for an upcoming pedestrian crossing project at the intersection of U.S. Highway 41 and Washington Avenue, some changes are being made to traffic patterns.

Among them: On Highway 41 north and southbound, no more right turns will be allowed on a red light. On Washington, signal and lane changes mean drivers will need to be alert as they learn the new patterns.

The light at Highway 41 and Washington will also be timed to allow pedestrians enough time to safely cross the divided highway. That will tend to back up traffic further north and southbound on Highway 41.
