During a virtual public meeting Thursday evening, Ohio River Crossing officials gave some new details and a timeline for the project.
First, the preferred route is one that runs crosses the Ohio River east of the Twin Bridges and around the east side of Henderson, rejoining I-69 at the Henderson Bypass. Second, the work will be done in two phases, starting on the Kentucky side from the bypass up to a new U.S. Highway 60 interchange. Phase two will then construct the new bridge and connect with I-69 on Evansville’s south side.
It’s going to take a decade to finish. Work on Phase One will begin immediately, with completion of the project scheduled in 2031. Public comment is open until April 16th.
