The final four in a fierce, local competition are being announced Monday morning, but it’s not the NCAA Mens’ Basketball Tournament.

It’s called Arch Madness, short for Archives Madness, a fierce but friendly competition between local museums and historical collections.

The organizations put their prized artifacts in the online contest and the public can vote on their favorite ones. The 2021 contest is down to the final four, which will be announced Monday morning.

USI archivist Jennifer Greene has organized the March contest the past few years. She says having the contest online gives them a chance to show the public some items that couldn’t be displayed otherwise.

“It’s this idea of raising awareness that people have great collections all around town and you need to explore our local history.”

The artifacts and voting are located at amusingartifacts.org.
