Part of Neighborhood "Skeleton Crew" Goes Missing

Two Halloween decorations are missing from an East Side Evansville home, where a family has been displaying whimsical scenes in the front yard.

A couple of the decorative skeletons on South Lombard Avenue – known on Facebook as the Skeleton Crew – went missing over the weekend.

Ann Dixon told WNIN News she and her family started constructing the daily scenes last March to offer some cheer as the pandemic took off.

Dixon said the latest scene refers to the two missing skeletons…

"We put up crime scene tape. We've got a little skeleton dressed up as a policemen. And so he's there talking with a person who has a little hankerchief in her hand, shedding a few tears and trying to explain what happened"

Dixon said she doesn’t plan to call the real police…

"It's not something I'm going to bother the police with. They work very hard on some very important things so I think I'll manage."

Dixon said they have more skeletal decorations and plan to continue the scenes for another two weeks…

"We're plannng on kind of ending it March 30th. With COVID vaccines rolling out and I think people are feeling a little bit better about what's going to come in the future that we think okay well, this one-year mark is a good time to put a stop to it"
