New Walking, Biking Trail for East Side

It will run from SR 57 to Riverside Drive.

In a release, Vanderburgh County officials announced a $771,000 grant from the state for the Green River Road Trail Project.

The funds, from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources’ Next Level Trails Program will add  2.3 miles of asphalt trail to existing facilities to create a trail that extends from State Highway 57 to Riverside Drive.

It includes widening bridges over Firlick and Pigeon Creeks and will connect the Green River Road canoe launch, Goebel Soccer Complex and Deaconess Sports Park. Vanderburgh County is one of eighteen projects statewide selected for the Next Level Trail grants. There was no estimated completion date given for the project.
