Evansville police shot and killed a man on Evansville’s South Side Sunday evening.
The incident happened around 8:15 Sunday evening. Police were called to the 1100 block of Cherry Street. A female said a man was in her backyard, threatening to shoot her dog and had pointed a weapon at her.
According to a release, officers confronted the man who was still armed. The man refused to comply with commands and two officers fired, striking him several times.
The man died at the scene.
The Vanderburgh County Coroner's Office has identified him as 33-year-old Rodriguez Daundre Pam.
A press conference on the incident was scheduled for noon Monday.
