A shooting in Evansville left one man critically wounded and another under arrest.

Police say officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Hatfield Dr. at about 8:30 Sunday night for disorderly conduct.

In a release, the EPD said dispatchers changed to the run to “shots fired” before officers arrived.

In a release, police said officers found the victim on the ground with gunshot wounds to his leg and abdomen.

They said the suspect was standing nearby.

An ambulance took the victim to a hospital with critical injuries. He was expected to survive.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident and transported to police headquarters.

Police did not release their identities.

The EPD said officers learned the victim was involved in domestic dispute with his wife.

Things became violent and the wife called the suspect to the scene to protect her.

Police said when the man arrived, he and the victim got into a physical fight that ended in gunfire.
