KSP: Man, Teen Had Drugs, Gun, and Cash in Car

File

Police have arrested a man and a teen on multiple drug charges in western Kentucky.

Kentucky State Police say a trooper spotted a car on I-165, about ten-miles north of Hartford, traveling at 90 miles-per-hour in a 70 miles-per-hour zone.

In a release, the KSP said the trooper stopped the car driven by 21-year-old Tyrus Action of Owensboro.

The trooper detected a strong odor of marijuana and a search of the vehicle turned up about 3 pounds of pot and bottles of codeine.

The KSP said the passenger, a 17-year-old from Ohio County, had a stolen handgun, a large amount of cash, and digital scales.

The juvenile was arrested and released to the Ohio County Court Designated Worker.

Action was arrested on numerous charges, including Trafficking in Marijuana, Possession of Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Speeding, and Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence.

He was taken to the Ohio County Detention Center in Hartford.
