Restrictions on public gatherings are forcing the Evansville Philharmonic to postpone two of its concerts this season, including the grand finale for retiring music director Alfred Savia.
This April was supposed to be a time of celebration and honoring Maestro Alfred Savia’s long career as music director of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra and crowning his successor.
Five finalists for the job have each conducted the orchestra in a series of highly anticipated peformances this season. WNIN has rebroadcast the performances on 88.3
But Monday, EPO officials announced “The Envelope Please” pops concert and Maestro Savia’s farewell concert on April 25 were being postponed and will be rescheduled at later dates. We will have those rescheduled dates on WNIN once they’re announced.
