Four workers have suffered burns at the Waupaca Foundry in Tell City.
Waupaca issued a statement to multiple media outlets confirming four employees received what the company called non-life threatening injuries during maintenance to the plant’s cupola.
Waupaca said the workers were transported via air and ground to a regional burn center in Louisville.
The names of the injured were not immediately released.
The foundry said it notified family members and is “very appreciative” of first responders, paramedics, and law enforcement.
Waupaca said an internal investigation is underway to determine the cause of Monday’s accident.
