Violent Sexual Predator Arrested Following Chase

Gibson County Sheriff

A man who is a registered sexually violent predator was arrested by Gibson County Sheriff’s deputies in Oakland City. 

A release from the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office says they received a tip last week that 42-year-old Roger Wayne Conder Jr. was not living at an address provided to the Indiana Sex Offender Registry.

After he was located, Conder ran from officers and was caught after a short chase. The release says officers from several agencies assisted. Conder is in the Gibson County Jail on $750 bond.

According to online court records, Conder was charged in July of 2007 in Gibson County with Rape, Criminal Confinement, Domestic Battery and Criminal Deviate Conduct. He pleaded guilty to the criminal deviate conduct charge and was sentenced to ten years in prison.
