A space heater is believed to have sparked a fire on Evansville’s East Side.
Firefighters were dispatched to 2423 Lincoln Avenue at about 9:40 Wednesday morning.
They found a two-story playhouse that was being used for storage and a work area fully involved in flames.
In a release, the EFD’s Mike Larson said electric transmission lines were damaged and Vectren had to cut power to the line, leaving several residents without electricity for a time.
Vectren crews replaced the lines and restored service.
Larson said the fire was likely started by a space heater that was left too close to combustibles.
There were no injuries.
Firefighters extinguished the flames in less than ten minutes.
