File

Owensboro Police are investigating a suspicious house fire that sent two people to the hospital.

Firefighters were called to a house in the 3900 block of Kipling Drive, off J.R. Miller Blvd., just after 1:00 a.m. Friday.

On its Facebook page, the Owensboro Fire Department said first responders found flames shooting through the roof of the home.

More firefighters were dispatched and crews rescued two residents from the burning house.

They were taken to a hospital for treatment. There’s no word on their names or conditions.

The OFD said crews confined the blaze to rooms at the rear of the home.

In a release, Owensboro Police said they’ve opened an arson investigation.

Anyone with information on the house fire is urged to call the OPD at 270-687-8888 or Crime Stoppers at 270-687-8484.
