Police have arrested an Evansville man accused of being a “porch pirate.”

Evansville Police arrested 37 year old Matthew Bishop on felony theft charges, after packages were stolen from a porch in the 1700 block of Washington Avenue November 21 st.

The EPD released home surveillance images of the suspect Wednesday and a 911

caller reported seeing Bishop in the same area Thursday.

In a release, the EPD said officers took him into custody without incident.
Police said Bishop had a prior theft conviction.

He was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on a new Felony Theft charge.
