Firefighters extinguished a house fire near Downtown Evansville.
Crews were called to 602 E. Illinois St. at about 3:20 Thursday afternoon and found fire in the second story of the house.
In a release, Division Chief Mike Larson said the homeowner had tried to put out the fire before calling 9-1-1.
Larson said firefighters extinguished the flames in less than 20 minutes.
No injuries were reported and the cause of fire is under investigation.
