Man Arrested For 2018 Fatal Shooting

File

Police have arrested an Evansville man for a fatal shooting more than a year ago.

The EPD says 26-year-old Dalarrius Jackson – also known as NuNu Jackson -- faces a preliminary murder charge for the death of Amon Johnson.

The body of the 22-year-old Johnson was found in an alley in the 600 block of E. Missouri St. last November.

Police said officers found several bullet casings near the body.

As news of the murder spread, crime tips came in to the EPD stating Jackson was the shooter.

Allegations were made on social media that Jackson killed Johnson because he had stolen a large sum of money from him.

Police said interviews of various people with knowledge of the connection between Jackson and Johnson, Jackson’s statements, and other evidence gathered, led to the arrest warrant of Jackson for the murder.

In a press release, EPD Sgt. Jason Cullum said officers located Jackson on Thursday and took him into custody.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call the Evansville Police Department at 812-436-7979 or the WeTip line at 800-78-CRIME.
