Police have arrested a woman accused of killing an Evansville man eight months ago.

27-year-old Amber Brewer is accused of fatally shooting Delvin Mitchell.

The 25-year-old Mitchell died just after midnight on January 25th.

Officers found him unresponsive after shots were fired in the 2300 block of Frisse Ave.

In a news release, Evansville police say Brewer is currently jailed in Henderson on federal firearms charges.

The EPD says authorities recovered the murder weapon from Pigeon Creek near Diamond Avenue.

That search in June shut down a portion of the Pigeon Creek Greenway and received media attention.

Police say investigators matched ballistics from evidence recovered at the crime scene with the gun recovered from the creek.

The EPD says more information – including digital evidence -- connected Brewer to the crime.

Anyone with more information on Mitchell’s death is asked to call Evansville police.
