House Fire Displaces Four

Authorities are investigating a house fire in Evansville.

Firefighters were dispatched to 733 E. Florida St. early Sunday morning.

In a news release, the EFD said firefighters found flames at the back of the single-family home.

Public Information Officer Mike Larson said the fire extended from the ground up to the roof.

He said four occupants were not injured and firefighters extinguished the flames in about 15 minutes.

One firefighter received a puncture wound to his gloved left hand and was taken to Deaconess Midtown Hospital for a precautionary tetanus shot.

The four residents are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

Larson said the cause of the fire cause is undetermined and is under investigation.
