Semi Spills Plywood On Former Natcher; Clean-up Takes 4 hours

Traffic is moving again on a western Kentucky highway, after a tractor-trailer crashed early Tuesday, prompting a lengthy clean-up.

It happened around 5 a.m. on southbound I-165 – the former Natcher Parkway – between Owensboro and Hartford -- near the Daviess-Ohio county line.

Photos from the scene showed the big rig on its side with the top of the trailer ripped open, with a load of plywood spilling onto the roadway.

The crash forced officials to close the southbound lanes and redirect traffic to US 231 during the morning commute.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd said the roadway re-opened at about 9 a.m., four hours after the crash.

The truck driver was not injured.
