State Money Coming To Daviess County For Road Repairs

More than $650,000 is headed to Daviess County, Kentucky for road resurfacing.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced the discretionary funds during yesterday’s (Thur) Daviess County Fiscal Court meeting.

In a news release, the cabinet says the repairs will address surface cracks, potholes, raveling, and base failures along four county roads: Stevens School Road, Greenbriar Road, Lake Forest Drive, and Yelvington-Grandview Road.

Daviess County Judge-Executive Al Mattingly identified those roads as among the most critical in the county.

The funding will allow for 11 miles of improvements to the roads that provide access to 200 homes and businesses.

The transportation cabinet says projects submitted to the Department of Rural and Municipal Aid were evaluated based on factors such as safety, economic impact, and traffic volume.
