KSP: Cash And Illegal Drugs Found On Downed Plane

The small plane that crashed in Henderson this week contained cash and illegal drugs.

Two men died in the crash, 47-year-old Barry Hill and 48-year-old George Tucker, both of Sanford, North Carolina.

Kentucky State Police Public Information Officer Corey King tells WNIN that illegal drugs and cash were found on board the aircraft.

King says it’s also believed the plane ran out of fuel, as the pair attempted to make a fueling stop in Henderson.

It’s not clear where they were headed.

Authorities have said the private Bellanca 17-30A was either stolen or was being used without the authority of the registered owner.

It crashed late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning about 50 feet off the runway at Henderson City-County Airport.

The wreckage wasn’t discovered until about 7:30 Wednesday morning.
