I-64 Crash Killed Evansville Woman

ISP

Authorities have identified the victim of last Thursday’s fatal crash on I-64 as an Evansville woman.

Indiana State Police say 60-year-old Terri Jo Kanter died in the crash near Ferdinand in Spencer County.

The ISP said a preliminary investigation determined an eastbound vehicle driven by Kanter crossed the median and collided with a westbound semi.

The crash killed Kanter and authorities said at the time that a positive identification would take several days.

The truck driver, who was from Texas, was not injured but was taken to a hospital for a certified chemical test. That’s standard protocol in a fatal crash.

Police said drugs and alcohol were not believed to be a factor.
