Vincennes Man Accused Of Fleeing Crash, Kids

A Vincennes man is accused of leaving his two young boys behind after crashing a pickup truck.

Indiana State Police responded to the crash on State Road 67 near Bruceville Sunday night.

In a news release, the ISP says a trooper found a pickup truck that had left the roadway and overturned.

Police say two young boys – ages 9 and 10 -- were found at the scene, but the driver was seen running away by a nearby homeowner.

The boys were not injured.

Police say the driver, 37-year-old Brandon Davis of Vincennes, was found nearby and exhibited signs of impairment.

Davis was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital where police say it was determined he had a blood alcohol level of .24% -- three times the legal limit.

The two boys were released to their mother.

Davis was taken to the Knox County Jail on preliminary charges including Driving While Intoxicated with Passengers under 18, Neglect of a Dependent, Leaving the Scene of a Crash, and Driving While Suspended.
