Authorities are investigating the discovery of human remains in Henderson County.
A release from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to an area near the intersection of Tillman Bethel Road and Green River Road No. 2 Sunday afternoon for a report of a body found in the woods.
The sheriff’s office says the deputies found the remains -- which appeared to be female – about a half-mile from the intersection, near the Ohio River.
Authorities called the case “suspicious.”
An autopsy was scheduled for Monday at the state medical examiner’s office in Madisonville.
