Authorities are looking for an inmate who escaped the Union County jail.
Kentucky State Police say 40 year-old Jason Stangel of Uniontown was lodged in the detention center in Morganfield on non-violent charges and was granted work release.
Police say Stangel was with a work crew in the Whispering Meadows area, when he reportedly walked away at about 9:30 Thursday morning and has not been seen since.
KSP now has an escape warrant for Stangel’s arrest and are searching for him in the Union County area.
Stangel is described as a white man, six feet one inch tall, weighing 220 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
He was last seen wearing an orange hoodie and tan pants.
Anyone with information on Stangel’s whereabouts is urged to call Kentucky State Police or your local law enforcement agency.
