A 12-year-old boy was found safe after an intense search in Evansville.
The EPD tweeted Tuesday evening that it was actively searching for the boy, Jonathan Greenwell, who was last seen near Lodge and Washington avenues at about 3 p.m.
Police released a photo of the 12-year-old and asked the public for help.
Authorities received a tip that the boy was seen on Evansville’s West Side, and police deployed a drone in the Howell Wetlands.
Greenwell was not found there, but was later located – safe and sound – on Claremont Avenue near the Dollar General Store on Barker Avenue at about 8 p.m.
It’s not clear why the boy traveled across town. It’s believed he took a METS bus.
In a tweet, the EPD thanked the public for tips that led officers to the missing boy.
