Man Accused Of Leaving Obscene Notes Faces New Underwear Allegation

VCSO

A man accused of leaving obscene notes on women’s cars at USI in September is now accused of breaking into a woman’s home four years ago and stealing underwear.

Police arrested 32-year-old Aaron Otto of Newburgh in September after fingerprint analysis linked him to sexual notes on the vehicles of unsuspecting young women on the USI campus.

In a news release, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says Otto’s fingerprints have now been linked to evidence collected in a 2014 burglary when an unknown suspect entered a young woman’s home while she was away and stole more than 30 pairs of underwear.

Based on the forensic information, the sheriff’s office says a warrant was obtained for Otto’s arrest and he was taken into custody in Washington, Indiana.

Otto denied any involvement in the burglary.

He faces preliminary charges of burglary and theft, and is being held in the Vanderburgh County Jail on a $5000 bond.
