The Vanderburgh County Coroner has identified the man who died in a motorcycle crash on State Road 65.
The coroner’s office said 63-year-old Roy Wheeler of Poseyville was killed in Wednesday’s crash.
Witnesses said Wheeler was operating a motorcycle southbound on 65 and attempted to pass another vehicle but crashed head-on with a semi near Armstrong Road.
Coroner Steve Lockyear said in a news release that Wheeler died at Deaconess Hospital’s Emergency Room shortly after the accident.
Pursuant to state law regarding crashes involving serious bodily injury or death, the driver of the truck consented to a blood draw.
The sheriff’s office says neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been a factor in the crash.
