USI Theatre Presents: First Daughter Suite
USI Theatre Presents: First Daughter Suite
University of Southern Indiana Theatre continues its 2026-27 season with the mainstage opener First Daughter Suite, the acclaimed musical by five-time Tony Award nominee Michael John LaChiusa. Performances will run Thursday through Sunday, September 24-27 at the Performance Center. Shows start at 7 p.m. Thursday, September 24 through Saturday, September 26 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 27 for the matinee.
Through a series of interconnected portraits, First Daughter Suite invites audiences to examine the lives of women whose identities and experiences have been shaped by their relationships to the American presidency. The musical offers a compelling opportunity to explore the intersection of history, politics, family and personal identity through the lens of contemporary musical theatre. The audience is encouraged to approach First Daughter Suite not only as a work of musical theatre, but also as an invitation to reflect on the relationship between public history and private experience.
First Daughter Suite is directed by Dr. Joshua Robinson, Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre. Musical Direction provided by Tom Drury, Senior Instructor in Music. For moments of strong language and adult situations, this show is recommended for ages 13 and over.
