A collision between a motorcycle and an SUV in Evansville Tuesday night sent the rider to a hospital and the other driver to jail

A motorcycle rider is in the hospital and a man faces charges after a crash in Evansville. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:

The collision involving an SUV and a motorcycle happened at about 8:15 Tuesday night at the intersection of First Avenue and Uhlhorn Street.

Evansville Police say the motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with a severe leg injury.

There was no word on the motorcyclist’s name.
The EPD says the driver of the SUV, 38-year-old Justin Walker, showed signs of impairment and admitted to drinking before the crash.

Police say a Standard Field Sobriety Test and a Portable Breath Test both showed he was under the influence.

Walker faces preliminary charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Serious Body Injury and Operating Without Ever Obtaining a Driver’s License.
