You have an opportunity to learn what happens behind the scenes at the Evansville Police Department, WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The EPD Community Academy is a free 12-week program where residents can hear directly from the officers who do the job every day.
Topics include SWAT, K-9, Street Crimes, Sex Crimes, Narcotics, Bomb Squad, Crime Scene Unit, Domestic Violence, Mounted Patrol, Dispatch Jail Tours, and Homeless Outreach,
Residents can also go on a Motor Patrol Ride-Along.
The program is held on Tuesdays from August 11th to November 17th from
6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the CK Newsome Center
The Community Academy is open to anyone 15 years of age or older. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
