The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office has completed a pre-Halloween operation focused on registered sex and violent offenders. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
The Sheriff’s Office says the initiative was aimed at ensuring offenders remain in full compliance with state registration laws and to enhance public safety on the holiday.
Sheriff Noah Robinson say throughout the day Thursday, deputies visited the registered homes and workplaces of offenders to verify addresses, employment, and other registry information.
In some cases, deputies interviewed household members to confirm the registrant’s residence and compliance.
The effort resulted in two felony arrests and one misdemeanor arrest.
Robinson says the Sheriff’s Office is “actively monitoring offenders and taking every precaution to keep families protected.”
