Four Evansville residents face animal cruelty and neglect charges. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story and a warning: this one-minute story includes descriptions that some listeners may find disturbing.
The investigation began when three of the suspects arrived at Animal Control with a deceased dog and a second dog that was severely emaciated and near death.
That dog, later named “Peanut,” had to be euthanized.
Animal Control officers contacted the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office and deputies responded to a trailer in the Grandin Pointe Mobile Home Park off N. St. Joe Ave.

Deputies say they found 11 dogs and 14 cats that were malnourished, filthy, and suffering from visible injuries and illness.
They said the interior of the trailer was filled with trash, feces, and urine, with no electricity and extreme temperatures.
The animals were taken to Animal Control and the Building Commission condemned the trailer.
Deputies arrested 56-year-old Timothy Ray Martin, 60-year-old Shirley Ann Martin, 40-year-old Sheila Marie Jones, and 53-year-old Joshua Burke Binkley.
