Man Dead after North Side Trailer Fire

File

The coroner's office says Randall Hellenberg, 69, was found deceased

Authorities have released the name of the man who died in a mobile home fire in northern Vanderburgh County Thursday night. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

The Coroner’s Office says 69-year-old Randall Hellenberg died in the blaze.

Sheriff’s deputies were on patrol Thursday night when they noticed smoke coming from a home in the 1700 block of Asbury Drive.

That’s in the Grandin Pointe Mobile Home Park, off Wimberg Road.

Central Dispatch sent McCutchanville and German Township firefighters to the scene.

Crews battled the flames and found Hellenberg deceased on a couch inside the trailer.

An autopsy was scheduled for Saturday.

There’s no word yet on the cause of the fire.

The sheriff’s office continues to investigate.
