Two Drug Suspects Arrested, Jailed

EPD
JaJaun Bennett, 32

Police confiscate large amounts of fentanyl and methamphetamine

Police say they’ve arrested two suspects and taken hundreds of doses of fentanyl and meth off the streets. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

EPD Sgt. Trudy Day says the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force arrested 32-year-old JaJaun Bennett on two counts of Dealing a Narcotic and Possession of a Handgun by a Felon on Monday.

After a lengthy investigation, Day says a search warrant was obtained for Bennett’s home in Warrick County.

Day says with the help of Warrick deputies, detectives recovered 62 grams of a powder that field-tested positive for Fentanyl.

Authorities say detectives recovered a total of 69 grams of suspected Fentanyl, equivalent to about 700 doses of the powerful drug.

Shawn Foster, 51

And then on Tuesday, the Task Force collaborated with Homeland Security Investigators and Indiana State Police to apprehend a large quantity of methamphetamine being brought into Evansville through the mail.

Day says 51-year-old Shawn Foster received a package containing more than 900 grams of meth.

Day says Foster was arrested after trying to flee from officers on foot.

Both Bennett and Foster are being held in the Vanderburgh County Confinement Center.
