EPD: Jason Horne, 44, fatally shot his wife-to-be Thursday afternoon

Evansville Police have arrested a man accused of killing his fiancé. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:

EPD Sgt. Trudy Day says officers responded to the 1600 block of S. Morton Ave. late Thursday afternoon in reference to a female who had been shot.

Day says when officers arrived they found a woman with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The woman was transported to a local hospital, where she later died.

The coroner’s office has not yet released her name.

Day says officers were told the woman had shot herself but after further investigation police arrested the victim’s fiancé, 44-year-old Jason Horne.

Horne faces a murder charge and is being held at the Vanderburgh County jail.
