David Wayne Parrot, 64, died when his truck ran into Eagle Crossing Lake

Authorities have released the name of the Evansville man who died after driving a truck into a lake on the East Side. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 64-year-old David Wayne Parrot.

The truck Parrot was driving plunged into Eagle Crossing Lake near the Crack Barrel restaurant Tuesday evening.

Evansville Police had been dispatched to the area for a "possible drunken driver."

Evansville Fire Department divers pulled Parrot from the submerged vehicle.

He was taken to Ascension St. Vincent Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy on Wednesday.

The office says the cause and manner of Parrot’s death are pending a toxicology report.
