An Evansville man has been arrested for the death of his mother. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
Evansville Police say a lengthy investigation led officers to arrest 29-year-old Jaron Wells in Harrisburg, Illinois on Monday.
The body of Wells’ mother, Shanay Hunt, was found inside a vacant house in the 1000 block of Harriet St. in Evansville in July.
EPD spokesperson Taylor Merriss says detectives uncovered information that Wells was staying in a rural home outside Carrier Mills, Illinois.
Merriss says Evansville Police officers, US Marshals, Harrisburg Police officers, and Saline County Sheriff’s deputies took Wells into custody in Harrisburg.
He was booked into the Saline County jail on a murder warrant from Vanderburgh County.
There’s no word on how soon Wells may be returned to Evansville.
