Nighttime Demolition Planned for U.S. 41

File

The work in Henderson is part of the I-69 bridge project

Nighttime demolition work is coming to Highway 41 in Henderson. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

Lane closures are expected overnight on northbound 41 at KY 351, as crews begin demolition of an overpass to make way for a new overpass.

It’s part of the I-69 Ohio River Crossing project.

Spokeswoman Mindy Peterson says short-term overnight stoppages are also expected on 351.

The nightly closures are to begin Wednesday around 7 p.m. and end by 6 a.m. each day.

The work is expected to be complete by the end of the week, before work shifts to the southbound side of the overpass.

Officials say the demolition will create some noise and they ask for patience from people in the immediate area.

They say the work is happening at night to minimize impacts to motorists and to get the work done as quickly and as safely as possible.

More demolition work is expected next week at 41 and Van Wyk Road.
