Braylin C. J. Underwood, 16, is charged as an adult after a shooting scare at the mall

One of the two juveniles arrested after a scare at Eastland Mall has been waived to adult court. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

Evansville Police say 16-year-old Braylin C. J. Underwood is charged as an adult after a fight at the mall Saturday night.

Initial reports indicated shots were fired but an investigation determined no shots were fired in the mall.

Eastland was put on lockdown, evacuated, and officers conducted a search.

Police say an extended handgun magazine was found near the center of the mall. A handgun was found outside.

The EPD said five males were transported to headquarters for questioning and Underwood and another juvenile were arrested.

EPD Sgt. Anny Gray said security footage was being reviewed and more arrests were possible.
