ISP focused on Highway 41 Friday night

Police made good on their promise to step-up patrols over the holiday weekend. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

Indiana State Police say officers conducted a saturation patrol targeting dangerous and impaired drivers on U.S. 41 in Vanderburgh, Gibson, and Knox Counties.

The ISP says between 8:00 p.m. and midnight on Friday, troopers issued 62 traffic tickets and 76 warnings.

Most of the tickets were for speeding.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office also participated and issued another 7 tickets and 12 warnings.

The ISP and other police agencies increased patrols over the Thanksgiving weekend with the help of federal funding.
