An Evansville man is dead after being hit by an SUV on Highway 41. WNIN’S John Gibson reports:
The Vanderburgh County Coroner identifies the victim as 35-year-old Herbert Moore.
He was hit before noon Saturday on 41 near Washington Avenue.
Evansville Police said Moore walked onto the roadway and was nearly hit by one vehicle.
Police said a second vehicle was not able to stop in time and hit Moore.
Officials said he was alert at the scene before being taken to St. Vincent Hospital, where he later died.
The SUV driver was tested for drugs and alcohol but the EPD did not believe the driver was impaired.
