Lamasco Owner Amy Word is charged with Maintaining a Common Nuisance

Evansville Vanderburgh School Board member and restaurant owner Amy Word was among 22 people arrested after a drug investigation. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

Evansville Police Sgt. Anna Gray says the Vanderburgh County Joint Drug Task Force has been investigating trafficking and consumption of illegal narcotics along the W. Franklin Street corridor after receiving numerous tips from the WeTip line.

Gray says detectives witnessed hand-to-hand transactions of controlled substances on the Lamasco Bar & Grill parking lot.

Word owns the bar as well as the nearby Amy’s on Franklin.

The task force made several traffic stops as suspects left Lamasco during the early morning hours of Saturday.

Police arrested Aaron Funkhouser and Steven Driesbach on charges of Dealing Cocaine and Fentanyl. A short time later, police arrested Demario Holman on a charge of Dealing Cocaine.

Other traffic stops followed, including a vehicle driven by Zachary Clark who police say had marijuana and cocaine for which he was arrested.
