A child is dead following what Evansville Police are calling an accidental shooting. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:
Officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of W Virginia St. Tuesday evening.
They found a juvenile victim with an apparent gunshot wound.
EPD Sgt. Anna Gray says the victim was beyond help and the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene.
Gray says it appears to be an accidental self-inflicted shooting, but an investigation continues and an autopsy will be scheduled.
The coroner’s office has not yet released the name of the victim.
